Dear Candace,
I'm sending these (cookies) to cheer you up, as I'm sure you were devestated by your teams loss to the ohio state women's basketball team on Sunday. I started baking them at the start of the game confident that OSU would win and you'd need cheering up. As the game progressed, however, I began to fear that it would be me that needed cheering up, as the spartans put up a great fight. In fact, it came down to the last 3 seconds of the game and has OSU missed their last shot, it would have been me sitting here eating the cookies, instead of you! I guess life is full of tradeoffs--Michigan loses but you get to eat cookies! I must tell you, these are not homemade cookies. They are from a frozen dough that we bought for Dany's wrestling team. (God! I can't even spell my own child's name! I think they taste ok, and we only have two more tubs to use up . THe good part is I'll probably be sending more soon, and the bad news is it will be that much longer until I start baking the really good home made ones. (More of those trade-offs!)
Well, That's about it for now. Aunt Julie is sitting here talking to your sister, wishing her a Happy belated birthday. Danny is in New York on a church youth group ski trip. (He's into the ski part, and a particular "youth" named Lexa, but I don't think the church part is the main attraction). Chris is out and about for the evening, as usual. If Danny and Chris were here, they'd be sending you their love, as do your Aunt Julie and I. Hope things are going well for you! See you soon!
With Love, Uncle Jim |
